A window is only as good as the opening it sits in. You can buy the best unit on the market and lose all of it to a sloppy install: no sill pan, housewrap lapped the wrong way, gaps stuffed with fiberglass instead of foam. We do that part carefully, which is the part nobody sees and the part that determines whether you feel a draft in February.

We handle replacement windows in existing openings and full frame new construction installs during siding work. When windows go in as part of a siding project, the flashing gets integrated with the weather barrier the right way instead of being retrofitted around it, which is the single biggest reason to do both at once.

Common questions

Should I replace my windows or just the glass?

If the frame and sash are sound and only the seal has failed, glass replacement can make sense. If the frames are rotted, racked or original to an old house with no insulation value left, replacement is the better spend. We look at yours before recommending either.

What is the difference between a replacement and a full frame install?

A replacement window drops into the existing frame and is faster and less invasive. A full frame install removes everything back to the rough opening, which lets us flash the opening correctly and address any rot. During a siding job full frame is usually the right call since the wall is already open.

Do you install windows you did not supply?

Yes, if the units are the right size and in good condition. We confirm the measurements before installation day, because a window ordered a half inch wrong is a problem that only shows up when the wall is already open.

Is winter a bad time for window replacement?

It is not ideal but it is very doable. We work one opening at a time so the house is never wide open, and the sealing details matter more in cold weather, not less.

How long does it take?

Most homes are done in one to two days depending on the count and whether it is replacement or full frame. You get the schedule in writing before we start.
